2019 Fixtures Announced

Posted by Dinton Cricket Club on 03/01/2019 16:39

As surely as Night becomes Day and Winter become Summer, around this time of year the Cherwell League will roll out their fixture computer, dust off the cobwebs, run a quick virus check over it, blow on the plug and hand crank it back to life to generate it's usual mixture of intriguing and challenging fixtures.

This year, the 1st's will kick off their bid to return to the Home Counties League with a home game vs Great Brickhill. Great Brickhill should be fellow title contenders this season, having finished 2nd last year.

The 2nds will resume life in Div 5, with a tricky away trip to last season's Div champions Aston Rowant. Despite winning the Division last season Rowant weren't awarded the promotion on account of their facilities not meeting the criteria for Div 4.

For the 3's life in Div 9 begins at fortress Old Berkley with a home game vs Cumnor. Cumnor finished 5th in the Division last season, having been relegated from Div 8 in 2017.

Three difficult games to kick off with then, but which should give us a good indication early on, of the challenges that lie ahead.

(The full fixture lists are currently available on the Cherwell League website - 1st XI here... 2nd XI here... 3rd XI here... And will uploaded to this site in the coming weeks.)
